Design Approach
Marèa was designed around feeling, not simply form.
The intention was to create a home that feels warm, relaxed, and quietly extraordinary. Inspired by the romance of Mediterranean architecture, the design embraces gentle curvature, natural materiality, and generous proportions to shape a home that feels expansive without losing intimacy.
Key considerations included:
- Open-plan kitchen and living as the central hub
- A defined alfresco entertaining zone with built-in outdoor kitchen
- Seamless indoor–outdoor connection throughout
- Curved architectural forms, internally and externally
- A dramatic 6-metre void to maximise scale and natural light
- Multiple living zones for flexibility and retreat
- A generous main suite with private lounge feel
- Outdoor automated blinds for privacy, comfort, and year-round use
What sets Marèa apart is the consistency of its design language, where every curve, finish, and spatial decision contributes to a home that feels immersive and beautifully resolved.
Material & Finish Direction
The material palette was curated to evoke warmth, softness, and refined luxury.
Natural stone, rich timber tones, and handcrafted finishes are layered with restraint, allowing texture and materiality to take centre stage. The result is a home that feels grounded, tactile, and quietly sophisticated.
Key elements include:
- Natural Taj Mahal stone throughout
- Walnut veneer cabinetry and bespoke joinery
- Venetian plaster feature walls
- Bronze fixtures and antique brass tapware
- Large-format tiles and marble feature surfaces
- Engineered timber flooring and pure wool carpet
- Statement lighting throughout
- Feature mosaic pool tiling in a custom checkered pattern
The palette remains soft and tonal. Warm neutrals, natural finishes, and subtle contrast working together to create depth without heaviness.
Standout Spaces
At the heart of the home, the kitchen, living, and alfresco zone come together as one expansive entertaining space, designed to flow effortlessly between indoors and out.
The showpiece kitchen is anchored by Taj Mahal stone and a sculptural fluted walnut island, paired with a generous butler’s pantry that balances beauty with practicality.
One of the most striking moments within the home is the main suite, where oversized arched windows frame sweeping water views and natural light pours into the space, creating a retreat that feels private, restful, and distinctly luxurious.
Additional standout moments include:
- A full-height wet bar with bronzed mirrors
- Custom breeze block detailing to outdoor entertaining spaces
- A resort-style ensuite with spa-like proportions
- A heated infinity-edge pool overlooking the water
- A dedicated office and bar recreation space designed for modern living
Designed for Living
While visually expressive, Marèa was designed with functionality at its core.
Multiple living zones provide flexibility for family life, while thoughtful inclusions, from the oversized walk-in butler’s pantry to spacious guest accommodation and extensive vehicle storage, ensure the home supports real everyday living at scale.
Custom breeze blocks introduce both privacy and filtered light, while integrated outdoor systems improve comfort, insulation, and usability throughout the seasons.
The result is a home that feels luxurious without compromise, generous, welcoming, and exceptionally liveable.
